On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Vienna Hofburg will once again open its doors for the 122nd ZuckerBäckerball. We are delighted to welcome a full house; this year, the ball was completely sold out within just three weeks.

As every year, ball attendees eagerly anticipate one of the most dazzling moments of the evening: the ceremonial presentation of the Prominententorte, our Celebrity Cake. A confectionary masterpiece crafted by Vienna’s finest pastry chefs, this creation is not only a feast for the eyes but also a tribute to a distinguished personality of the evening. Once again in 2025, this exquisitely adorned torte will be bestowed upon a prominent guest.

Who will receive the Celebrity Cake in 2025? Until the press conference on 6 December 2024, in Vienna’s city centre, this will remain a closely guarded secret. It is during this occasion that “Ballmutti,” Vice Honorary Consul Prof. Birgit Sarata, will officially announce the name of the honoured guest. One thing is certain: this year’s star guest will once again be a highlight of the ball, and the chosen confectioner will capture not only the guest’s taste but also their unique personality in this sweet masterpiece.

The tradition of presenting a custom-designed torte to the ball’s guest of honour dates back to 2009 and has since captivated guests and the media alike. Each torte is a work of art, reflecting the individuality of its recipient—whether it be Herbert Lippert’s painting recreated in nougat, Yury Revich’s violin-inspired torte, or the chocolate homage to Daniela Fally’s opera career.

Look forward to an unforgettable midnight moment—sweet, mysterious, and brimming with elegance.
