On Thursday, 16 January 2025, the 122nd ZuckerBäckerball invites you to the opulent halls of Vienna’s Hofburg. Our splendid ball night begins at 8 p.m., reaching one of its festive pinnacles at 11:50 p.m. with the Midnight Quadrille – a shared dance experience that unites all guests.

The Quadrille, a social dance with roots in the 19th century, marries elegant choreography with celebratory camaraderie. This group dance, performed in a 2/4 or 6/8 rhythm, typically features couples arranged in squares or rectangles.

The Quadrille promises sheer delight: with charming calls and moments of humor, it creates a relaxed atmosphere that sweeps everyone off their feet. No prior knowledge of the steps is required, as instructions are provided live. Under the expert guidance of our esteemed dance masters, Richard Fränzl and Eddy Franzen, you will be led gracefully through the sequence of figures. Whether novice or seasoned dancer, the Midnight Quadrille is an invitation to come together, share laughter and joy, and experience the unity of this timeless tradition.

Following this lively interlude, another highlight awaits: the grand presentation of the Prominententorte, our celebrity cake, accompanied by the eagerly anticipated awarding of the cake art competition Zuckerbäcker Award. Yet, the night is far from over – magical moments and enchanting program highlights continue until the farewell dance at 5 a.m.
