For the eighth time, the "Association of Vienna State Opera Ballet" will grace the grand opening of the 122nd ZuckerBäckerball, this year performing a splendid classical waltz to “Mein Lebenslauf ist Lieb’ und Lust!” (Op. 263).
Josef Strauss has immortalized the celebration of life’s pleasures in this resounding masterpiece—a festival of the heart and soul that remains timeless.
Every year since 2009, a cake has been created by a renowned confectioner for a prominent personality. The ceremonial handover of this masterpiece takes place at midnight, marking one of the highlights of the ZuckerBäckerball.
At the festive press conference hosted by “Ballmutti” and Vice Honorary Consul Prof. Birgit Sarata, musical star Maya Hakvoort was announced as this year’s recipient of the celebrity cake.

Registrations for the 15th Zuckerbäcker Award have begun. The impressive creations of talented pastry chefs and apprentices will be displayed and judged live at the ball.
